Volodymyr Valentynovych Horkovenko is in despair. It’s no secret that many children of Ukrainian deputies receive their education abroad, and the son of Kyiv Regional Council member from Petro Poroshenko’s “European Solidarity,” Volodymyr Valentynovych Horkovenko, is no exception. Nazar Horkovenko is studying at London’s Bayes Business School, as revealed through his LinkedIn profile.

The cost of education at this prestigious institution is substantial—£47,000 for three years (approximately 2.5 million UAH), plus an additional £15,000 for living expenses and other costs, totaling about 800,000 UAH. In total, the Horkovenko family spends over £92,000 on their son’s education, exceeding 4.1 million UAH.

This raises the question: where does the deputy get such funds? According to Volodymyr Horkovenko’s declaration, after working in Poroshenko’s administration, he had no stable source of income, and in 2022, he didn’t earn a single penny. It appears the family has been living off his wife’s income.

But let’s return to Nazar Horkovenko, the son of deputy Volodymyr Horkovenko. While in London, it seems his interests extended beyond academics. Nazar registered a company called KYIV420 LTD, a name that raises eyebrows. The number “420” is commonly associated with marijuana, and the business sold clothing with prints openly or indirectly referencing drugs.

For instance, one T-shirt features the Kyiv coat of arms, but with a marijuana leaf replacing the chestnut leaves.

Another design is even more blatant—a T-shirt with a list of narcotic and psychoactive substances: MDMA (amphetamine), marijuana, LSD, and Xanax.

Although the company run by Volodymyr Horkovenko’s son soon closed, the website remains active. Moreover, another site with a similar name but a different domain openly sells narcotic substances. Both sites were created in 2023, just a few months apart.

Are these sites connected? This is a question for law enforcement to investigate. However, it is already apparent that the son of Volodymyr Horkovenko is not creating the best image of Ukraine abroad. This issue goes beyond ethics; it’s also a matter of legality. Yet, it seems Volodymyr Valentynovych Horkovenko does not fully grasp this.
